How to Install Crown Molding

A simple yet effective way to improve the look of any room is the addition of crown molding. You can choose from either paint grade, which comes from pre-primed and is a little more forgiving. Prior to paint, caulking hides any imperfections stain grade requires a more skilled hand, any imperfection is noticable.

Another option is installing pre-mitred trim, which takes out the process of having to cut angles, simply cut the crown to the required length needed between the inside corners and or outside corners. Nail in place using finish nails, which are a minimum of 2'' in length. If you have access to a pnumatic nailer or battery powered nailer, it makes the job easier and faster. When crown is installed simply caulk all joints that are visible and paint. Now you're room is finished off with a stylish and most decorative look.
